Introducing artworks that celebrate the stormy, floral landscapes found in South Africa. A place I call my Eden. From the vast yellow fields in the Free State to the cosmos fields in the Cape. We are met with a diverse landscape that have moody undertones that can transport the viewer into a different place and time. For these artworks I wanted to create a winter feeling that add elements of warmth into them. Days feel slower and softer, nights are met with candlight glow. Each piece is carefully curated to fit into handmade frames I found at a market celebrating local craft. It is quite a special feeling when both halves finally come together to reveal the finished piece. A piece that is truly South African both in the subject matter and in the way in which the painting and frame is locally made.
