I started making these tiny planters in 2023 after a client of mine asked for a special gift for someone dear to her. We were actually on holiday in the Western Cape at the time, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the coast.rnrnInspiration struck while we were strolling along the beach, collecting pebbles. I realised these little treasures could make perfect moulds for miniature planters! So, I started experimenting, shaping clay around the pebbles to create these tiny vessels. But it wasn’t just the pebbles that inspired me. I found myself drawn to the intricate patterns on shells scattered along the shore. Those patterns became the basis for some of the designs on the planters, adding a touch of natural beauty and uniqueness to each piece. More than just a decorative piece, this artwork encapsulates the heartfelt gesture of gifting flowers to convey emotions such as love, appreciation, or condolences. Whether celebrating a joyful occasion, expressing gratitude, or offering solace in times of sorrow, the act of presenting flowers transcends language barriers and speaks directly to the heart.
