‘n Lelie vir my Lief

“’n Lelie vir my Lief” which translates to “A Lily for my Love” in English, is a personal piece about a cherished small gesture of love- flowers gifted to me by my partner. A single white lily stands against a background of hazy blue. The small scale of the artwork draws the viewer closer inviting them into the intimate milieu of moody blues. In the spirit of the theme of the exhibition “Klein”, it is indeed the little things in life, like flowers from your partner, a hug from a loved one, spending time with your family, or a coffee shared between friends, that means the most and are in fact the big things in life.
