Daydream

​A profound study of surrender and restorative rest. As the figure sleeps, the dappled shadows of nearby plants cast a “natural tattoo” across the skin—a silent, shifting adornment. This piece serves as a gentle reminder that true healing and peace are found when we realign ourselves with the slow, rhythmic pulse of the natural world.
​Inspiration: Inspired by the suspension of time found in a midday nap. It explores the necessity of pausing the “mental overload” and the constant rush of modern life, allowing the environment to physically leave its mark on us.
​Technique: Utilizing high-contrast shadow work, I meticulously rendered the negative spaces within the leaf patterns. This layering of light and dark creates a sculptural depth on the figure, mimicking the way sunlight filters through a canopy.
