Despite the diversity of life, remarkably similar structures recur throughout the natural world. The branching of an antler echoes the division of a root system, while the fibres of human muscle resemble the structure of a tree trunk. Even the delicate structure of an insect’s wing resembles the branching patterns of roots.
Within the work, these structures merge into a single organism, reflecting the interconnected nature of existence. The circular ink wash suggests a continuous cycle of emergence, transformation and return.
We as humans are neither separate from it nor independent of it. We are part of the same living system, shaped by the same processes, emerging from and eventually returning to the source from which all life arises.
