Evening Fireflies

I was out in the Thicket one late afternoon, and as the light dimmed, the fireflies (Lampyridae) appeared in the cool evening air. Their lights flashed brightly against the darkening sky. It was an incredible experience.rnrnI started with washes of oil colour and drew on top of that with a 6B pencil.
